Clare Shepherd is an artist living and working on The Cranborne Chase in Dorset. Clare was born and brought up in Somerset and is very much a Wessex based artist. She paints frequently on Exmoor. Clare studied art at Somerset College of Arts and Technology. She moved on to The Slade School of Fine Art in London where she was the Slade Prizewinner on graduation. Clare has taught for some years for The Dorset Adult Education Service and for The University of Bath but now teaches her own privately run courses in Blandford Forum, Dorset which are thriving and inspiring. Clare has firm ideas on how and what to teach.
Clare recently entered the Artists303 open exhibition with her painting 'Raven and Skulls' . It was judged 'best overall exhibit' and Clare was awarded the £1000 top prize.
